Problem-Purpose Statements for Possible Projects

1.      TDICT Project directed by Dr. June Fisher Problem: Currently available step stool solutions do not meet her needs: some are too tall, others have a stepping area that is too small, and most do not have hand-holds to provide needed balance and stability during reaching. Finally many step stools are heavy and bulky, making them difficult to move and position. PROCEDURE / METHODOLOGY The goal of this project was to develop a product that gives makes and libraries the flexibility needed to provide and work within a more manageable, creative and collaborative workspace. The research done on libraries and makerspaces was derived from databases, expert feedback, and user surveys. Research centers were used primarily for statistical data. What worked: The research was organized well and collected from a variety of sources, providing statistics, historical data and professional opinions on the topic.
